David Reid

In portraiture, likeness is a central aim — I work to reflect both physical accuracy and the sitter’s presence.

I’m drawn to the look and feel of paint itself: how brushstrokes carry weight, light, and emotion. The still lifes explore fragile beauty, while the landscapes reflect a sense of place and attachment to memory. Each piece encourages slow looking, inviting viewers to engage not only with the image, but with the expressive potential of paint.
